NeighborWorks “Realizing the American Dream” teaches what you need to know to purchase a home effectively and knowledgeably in a one day, 7 hour class. The curriculum covers the following topics: Are You Ready to Buy a Home?; Managing Your Money; Understanding Credit; Getting a Mortgage Loan; Shopping for a Home; and Keeping Your Home & Managing Your Finances. This curriculum is interactive giving you hands on experience of concepts being taught. Area professionals and housing counselors teach portions of the class bringing you current market information. Class participants earn a certificate for attendance. The certificate can be used toward one of the many requirements for down payment assistance available for qualifying participants with local municipalities. Registration is required.
